About Me

I am originally from Cleveland Ohio and have been living in Colorado since 2007. I have a bachelor's degree in "secondary education: integrated sciences" from Bowling Green State University in Ohio, which means I was highly qualified to teach any science. And that's exactly what I did - teach almost all sciences for 12 years to seventh graders, freshmen, sophomores, and seniors. I noticed that many times students wanted to eat their lunch with me or would stay after school to talk to me. This made me think maybe there is a way I could help students inside AND outside the classroom. I returned to school at Adams State University to obtain my master's degree in "school counseling." And while I enjoyed being a school counselor for a couple of years, I decided I wanted to give back to my entire community. So I started working for a private practice in 2021 and have worked with individuals 8 years old to 90 years old as well as couples and families. With my positive energy, empathy, and compassion in a client-centered environment, I look forward to supporting you in achieving your mental health goals. In my spare time I enjoy hiking with my dogs, yoga, gardening, reading, and practicing self care. The teacher in me craves learning and growth. I fuel this passion by attending in person and virtual trainings to learn the most up to date research in the mental health field including new evidence-based counseling techniques. I look forward to sharing this knowledge with you during our sessions!
